This afternoon (noon-5) you’ll find us at the brand new French Quarter Farmers’ Market. Rain or shine, you’ll find this market packed with food vendors, so you can count on this new spot to be a great place to get most of your weekly groceries.

Here’s what we’re bringing (all cookies):

• The Classic (chocolate chip)
• Ginger (soft and chewy)
• Man’s Man’s (peanut butter, chocolate, bacon)
• Lime Sugar (with roasted pumpkin seeds)
• Cornflake Cluster (with cornflakes, duh)

What does it take to prepare for a weekend’s worth of cookies? The big ticket items are not edible ingredients at all - first you need a good sized block of time, and then you need a serious kitchen. Once those are ready to go, you need to buy some basic ingredients in quantities that should never be consumed in one sitting.

Here’s what we’re starting with tonight:

• 2 kg peanut butter
• 7 kg brown sugar
• 3 kg sugar
• 10 kg flour
• 110 g baking soda
• 10 g baking powder
• 4 doz eggs
• 110 g salt
• 6 kg margarine
• 5 kg chocolate chips
• 650 g mini chocolate chips
• 325 g marshmallows
• 1.2 kg  molasses
• 80 g vanilla
• 75 g ground ginger
• 45 g ground cinnamon
• 30 g ground cloves
• 1.5 kg [redacted]
• 6 cups bacon
• 96 mini peanut butter cups

Here’s what we’ll end up with:

• A whole bunch of The Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie
• Oodles of Ginger Cookies
• Myriad Cornflake Crunches
• Just enough Man’s Man’s Cookies to tell your Dad how you really feel

Come see us at the opening of the French Quarter Farmers’ Market on Sunday afternoon for a selection of any of the above, plus some Lime Sugar Cookies that we’ll be adding to the mix.
